Athletes need energy for metabolic process, the essential of running their body. metabolic process includes running the guts, circulating blood through the kidneys, liver and other organs; supplying the brain with energy, fueling the rods and cones of the eyes to work out, manufacturing salivary and gastrointestinal juices for digestion, and moving food through the bowels. Beyond metabolic process, they have energy to fuel their daily activities, including exercise and calorie provides the energy that body must operate.
