Biography
Kazim Sahin, nutritionist, graduated from School of Veterinary Medicine, Ankara University in 1990. He is working for Firat University. His research focuses mainly on vitamin and mineral metabolism, cancer prevention, stress and obesity. He has been very active internationally with collaborative research projects and international conferences conducted with scientists in USA, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Poland. He organized the First International Congress on Nutrition and Cancer in Antalya, Turkey in May 2008. He was also the first to report that dietary lycopene intake prevents leiomyoma and renal cancer in the Eker rats and Japanese quail in collaboration with medical researchers at Emory University, Atlanta and Wayne State University, Detroit, USA. He has approximately 120 original papers in peer-reviewed international journals (Web of Science) and review articles.
